Heritage & Culture

Tradition, culture, and heritage are three terms often used interchangeably to mean the same thing but they are not the same thing. ... As long as people work in a society/community of people, there will always be traditions and culture.

Culture refers to the daily living, attitudes, traditions, and norms of a society. ... Culture changes over time as technology,  industry and society evolves as it rightly should.  Manakin Forest Products is an equal opportunity employer and pledges each and every employee a safe and accepting work environment.  We are proud to be an American company with a strong reverence for our country, our flag, and people of all races.

Heritage however is not capable of change. Heritage includes a set of ethnic traits you are born with or are inherit in your very being.  We are proud to say we have a rich heritage, one of honesty and a  repeated standard of ethical behavior that has many times allowed us to transact millions of dollars worth of business on a verbal agreement with traders and customers we have known for years.  That's what a good reputation gets you!  The benefit of the doubt! When people know you, know your history, your family and who you are as a person, they trust you with their business.   And we find this to be priceless!

Our standards, set standards.  WE are Manakin.

Let freedom ring!

I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, with liberty and justice for all

After 28 years experience in lumber trading, Ed Boehm knows no one becomes successful alone.  It takes a team of people.  Suppliers, Customers, Traders, Admin, Traffic, Mill workers, bankers, HR, IT, Marketing....What can I say? At Manakin Forest Products, we value our team members, WE win as a TEAM.

Our standards, set standards.  "WE" are Manakin
